KENYA 2020
Red Door is joining Simba to go to Kenya to serve and lead a Vocational Bible Camp for over 500 children. Last year Pastor Zach attending and help serve 500+ kids from all over the region. This trip will include a week of running, leading and organizing VBS for kids ages 5 through 7th grade. We will spend time before we leave planning and organizing the camp. During the camp we will do music, crafts, games and bible lessons. Along with this we will serve at a disability home, rescue center for street kids and attend church. the last 2 days of our trip will include a Safari and shopping in the markets.
This trip will change your life. The kids and people of Kenya are so loving and caring.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN KENYA
For 2 weeks in November 2020, we will be traveling to the nation of Kenya and assisting a school and local churches to serve their village in practical ways and hold a camp for kids. This will be a 14-day trip between the dates of November 5-19th with various factors that could force us to change these dates slightly. The trip will expose the team to extreme poverty, some manual labor, kids programs and several opportunities for conversations about faith.
This Service Trip will be looking for 8-15 people.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TRIP COST?
The total trip cost will be around $2100-$2700. The team will participate in several fundraising efforts but these will NOT cover the full price of the trip. Each team member is responsible to cover the cost of the trip. This cost will include everything from travel, food, lodging, visa’s. This cost will not cover your passport and souvenirs.
WHO IS LEADING THE TRIP?
This years VBS trip to Kenya will be lead by Pastor Zach Bauer. The dates are still in flex depending on how many are coming, and when we can purchase the team tickets, but tentatively Nov 5-19th.
WHO CAN GO ON THIS TRIP?
This trip is open to all ages and anyone inside and outside of Red Door. If a minor would like to go they are required to have an adult come along. This trip is a faith based trip and we do ask for each attendee to have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus.
