SOAP Reading Acts 15

SOAP Reading Plan Acts 15

[SCRIPTURE]
Acts 15:12-14 NIV
“The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them. When they finished, James spoke up: "Brothers, listen to me. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself.”

[OBSERVATION]
As more and more Gentiles were being saved, some of the Jewish believers began to teach these Gentile believers that they had to be ‘circumcised after the manner of Moses’, or they could not be saved.

Paul and Barnabas understood the impact of this false teaching and so they agreed to attend this meeting known as the Jerusalem Council.

Paul and Barnabas were teaching the Jews what God had done among the Gentiles through them. These miraculous signs and wonders would especially convince the Jews.

In the end they conclude that grace and faith come to both Jews and Gentiles.

[APPLICATION]
We tend to look at people and judge them by their appearances, actions and reputation.
But God sees the heart.
Without hesitation God loves and forgives.

[PRAYER]
God please empower me to live by Grace and Grace alone. By grace I am saved to live as a follower of Jesus who lives in the freedom of God’s kingdom. Help me not to judge others and to extend love and grace.
